I worked as a medical secretary for about 5 years in a small but busy doctor's office. Administrative work like recording patient information, appointment scheduling, and logs of patients we've seen were all written and recorded in paper. With everything being handwritten, this caused a significant setback to workflow specially on hectic days.
I realized that I could write a software to digitize record keeping to boost efficiency and also save expenses used on paper in the process so I took it upon myself to learn software engineering and the skills to make this happen.
